Active Aging: Living Well at Every Stage of Life
Posted on October 8, 2026 - Active Aging Week, celebrated October 5–11, 2026, is an opportunity to celebrate the many ways older adults can continue to move, connect, learn, contribute and live with purpose. Organized by the International Council on Active Aging, the annual observance challenges outdated ideas about aging and highlights the possibilities that come with every stage of life. At Lutheran Homes of South Carolina, we believe active aging is about much more than exercise. It is about having opportunities to pursue interests, build relationships, make choices, stay connected to the community and find meaning in everyday life.
